5 stars for that. On the other hand, it smells nasty. They say it has a "green apple" smell, but that's just a nice way to say that it smells like vinegar. And if you let it get outside of the ear into the hair it leaves behind a greasy mess that's nearly impossible to clean up. But of course that's the same property that makes it do the job so well inside the ear, so I guess you can't have it all. The Golden doesn't like it when we put it in, but I'm not sure that she would like anything that we shot into her ear, and I can't blame her. Bottom line: it does a great job and the plusses outweigh the minusses. Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2016 Verified Purchase This has been prescribed by our veterinarian for our dogs since 2005. She recommended it for weekly use to clean our dog's ears,. One of the dogs was prone to periodic ear infections, and this helped prevent them. It does a good job of getting out the gunk. We live in the desert, so their ears tend to trap the dust and it can get nasty if we don't keep them clean.
Spherulite, spherical body generally occurring in glassy rocks, especially silica-rich rhyolites. Spherulites frequently have a radiating structure that results from an intergrowth of quartz and orthoclase. These spherical bodies are thought to have formed as a consequence of rapid mineral growth after nucleation, possibly on an accumulation of volatiles. Spherulites Spherulites in rhyolitic ash, Chiricahua Mountains, Ariz. Mark A. Wilson Spherulites that manifest concentric shells are called orbicules and are found in some granites and syenites. The shells have different mineralogies and in orbicular granite and granodiorite the bulk composition differs from that of the host rock. Orbicules are rare in gabbros. Suggested origins include devitrification of glass around scattered nuclei, inclusions of contaminating basic rock, or a rhythmic crystallization around foreign fragments. Perlites are spherical structures that have onion-like partings in a glassy rock. Their appearance is attributed to shrinkage after solidification, though concentric weathering can produce a similar appearance.

Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2015 Verified Purchase I like the advanced formula better. This one was good, but I saw a slightly bigger improvement with my dogs ears from the advanced one. With that said, let me share my personal experience with my dog's chronic ear infections. He's a Shih Tzu/Bichon mix and as he got older (he's 6 now), his ears were getting worse and worse. It was so bad, I purchased two of these bottles at a time (and they're pretty big bottles). I had to use this stuff on him every single day (every other day with the Advanced formula). Now get this.... I switched from canned/bagged dog food (we tried a bunch of brands so I know the culprit isn't just one brand) to a home-made beef stew (dog-friendly only ingredients of course), and I saw an IMMEDIATE (after one full day's feeding) improvement with my dog's ears (and other things). I only had to clean his ears ONCE in the last 3-4 months and it was barely even necessary!

I seriously want to give it less stars just for the bad smell but I have to give it 5 stars because it works on preventing the cocker spaniels (breed prone to ear and/or yeast infections) from getting any ear infections nor problems. We fill the ear canal up with the solution, then massage the area for about 10-15 seconds, then wipe out with cotton balls or paper towels. They do not like it at all and usually manage to shake their heads about 5 seconds of massing in, but that still has worked for them so far. The horrible smell lingers for a few hours after as well. Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2010 Verified Purchase Our sporting group dogs with the floppy ears have always had ear canal problems. When we got our Golden puppy 3 and a half years ago I decided to try to try to keep it from happening again. This product came highly recommended, and our vet said that it was a good product for what we wanted to do. We put a shot in each of her ears a couple times a week and so far she's had no problems at all.
I was happy to find it on Amazon at a much better price than I was paying at the vet clinic. Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2015 Verified Purchase I like this ear cleaner and so does my dog which makes it easier to get him to tolerate me working on his ears. It seems to be really gentle and after using it, his ears seem better almost right away. I used some other stuff the other day and he was rubbing his ears on the carpet afterwards (which he never does), so I think something in that caused him discomfort. I was so upset with trying something else that might have caused him discomfort. This has a very mild, hardly noticeable smell to it and NOT a stinky perfume type that a lot of the other cleaners have now-a-days. This Epi-Otic leaves his ears smelling "clean" to me. Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2014 Verified Purchase I have used this product for several years. One of my dogs keeps getting itchy ears with some brown discharge. I use this product to clean her ears, first I let it soak in for a couple of minutes, then clean with a Qtip.

Chemical analyses of perlites indicate high water concentrations which may be related to their origin. Varioles are pea-sized spheres intimately connected to a fine-grained groundmass but differing in colour, especially when weathered. They are typically formed by secondary minerals. Get exclusive access to content from our 1768 First Edition with your subscription. Subscribe today Lithophysae are hollow, bubble-like or rose-like forms that occur within certain glassy rocks. They consist of concentric shells with hollow interspaces. Many are penetrated by parallel membranes, which are continuations of laminations in the enclosing rock. The shells may be lined with delicate crystals of feldspar, quartz, or tridymite. Lithophysae may form as a result of chemical alteration of spherulites or by the expansion of gas bubbles upon extrusion. Barely anything from either ear. I used this site to help me. I don't use their directions on how to cook it, but it was extremely helpful in knowing what to give him and how much to give him of each group per feeding. I also required the help of a friend who does it for her dog. She taught me to make a big batch of a beef stew (takes about 5 hours to make unlike their directions in the link), throw it in pint containers and freeze them and defrost as needed. One batch will last me approximately 3 weeks (give or take a few days depending on the batch and feeding portions). So if your dog is having chronic ear infections, you might want to try switching to homemade food, but please be careful because they need a balanced diet just like we do, or else it can cause other issues (like ear infections and other more serious problems in the long run). Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2014 Verified Purchase This really does a great job, but I cannot stand the smell. We use it once a week on our 2 cocker spaniels and less frequently on our yorkie-poo.
